Limitations to know about

  • The PDF has real, selectable text and any number of pages. Headings, bold/italic, lists, tables, links, and PNG/JPEG images are kept.
  • Fonts are replaced with a standard font, so line breaks and page breaks can differ from Word.
  • Complex layouts — multi-column text, floating images, text boxes — may shift. Headers, footers, and page numbers from Word are not carried over.
  • Documents in Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, or other non-Latin scripts are saved as page images, so their text can't be selected or searched.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PDF look identical to my Word document?

Not necessarily. Basic text, headings, and simple formatting usually carry over well, but complex layouts, custom fonts, headers/footers, and precise pagination are not guaranteed to match exactly.

Does this upload my document to a server?

No. The document is read and rendered entirely in your browser — it's never sent anywhere.

Why did conversion fail?

This can happen with corrupted files, password-protected documents, or documents that use features this browser-based approach doesn't support. Try re-saving the file from Word and converting again.
